    Feature: The Indigo Isle

    Don’t Call It a Comeback!

It’s hard to find many people who can say they can weave with an 11 foot loom for a hobby. Especially those that are amazing at it.  This rare talent is possessed by the lovely Dana of The Indigo Isle. Dana loves to spread her knowledge about this craft to her customers and excited visitors. Visit booth A 124 for live weaving demos and to shop beautiful accessories and home decor items she creates.

The Indigo Isle embodies the spirit of a diminishing unusual craft. Inspired by a love for color, contrast and culture, The Indigo Isle invites you on an enigmatic journey away from mass-produced fabric, towards refined hand-woven, one-of-a-kind compositions.

Come by & watch Dana, the Philadelphia University-trained textile designer, as she meticulously weaves non-mass producible accessory collections, here at her studio in CRAFTED. Click below to see some photos of Dana, her loom, and the products she sells at CRAFTED.

          July & August Wrap Up

          Posted September 18th, 2013

We invited so many new, wonderful artists into our space this July and August – our market has never felt more full or vibrant. It gets more rich and exciting every day.

We kicked off summer with CRAFTED summer school, fun craft classes taught by our talented vendors and artists. Guests learned how to wire wrap with Nagare, or the art of chain mail jewelry with Eileen of Eileen’s Beaded Jewelry.

The Red Poppy Art Bar joined us for an amazing art class complete with wine tasting that made this event perfect for a girls day out or a date with that special someone.

We’ve also invited outside popup vendors to enjoy the summer weather! The luxe beauty boutique bareMinerals joined us for a weekend of free makeovers in our market. This glamorous boutique was decked out to the nines with great beauty products, wonderful staff, and a pretty gorgeous chandelier. We love this company!

And – after months of anticipation we are proud to announce that the Long Beach Derby Gals now call CRAFTED home. These terrific athletes wanted to throw a fantastic party in their new space, and hosted the first ever Roller Disco in our craft market! This fun, family-friendly day was a way to introduce our visitors to the derby gals and welcome them to their new home at CRAFTED. Their first match, MAMA SAID KNOCK YOU BOUT, was held on September 14.

We’ve introduced so many fun new elements into this warehouse space, we hope you like what we have in store in the upcoming months. Check out our amazing new vendor roster which grows and grows every day. Don’t forgot to shop local and buy handmade, and come see us again soon on the LA Waterfront!
