Drunken Cake Pops Expands to Beverage Bar

Posted March 16th, 2016

Drunken Cake Pops is growing!  Already a liquor lover’s dream, “DCP” has perfected the cake pop and infuses them with your favorite drinks, creating cocktail cake pops like Southern Gentleman (Henessey, whiskey, brandy and Southern Comfort in a soft chocolate cake), Red Wine Velvet (Cabernet and red velvet cake) and some that need no further explanation like mmmm mmmm Almond Amaretto and German Chocolate Whiskey.  Now, they’ve made their space at CRAFTED a double shot of awesome by expanding it into a beverage bar stocked with a variety of drinks that’ll wet your whistle.

Besides doubling their footprint in the market, DCP has expanded their product line to include bar snacks and have become CRAFTED’s official beverage bar, serving up fresh air roasted Black Coffee and offering several brands of cold beverages, including Black Medicine cold brew coffee, Joia sodas, mexican cokes, Bundaberg and more. Visit their new store in market stall 200 right by the main entrance.

“The Log Cabins of Donald Judd” – 50 new works by LUKE Haynes

              Posted February 20th, 2016

              Log_Cabins_LUKE_Haynes

We invite you to come see an ambitious display of new work by one of the stars in the modern quilt world, LUKE Haynes. Inspired by the iterative material forms of the late sculptor for which the series is named, LUKE has interpreted the traditional log cabin quilting method over a series of 50 quilts, all made of used textiles and using a range of red, white and black to articulate pattern and language.

The quilts will be hung from the ceiling in our massive “log cabin” warehouse like a forest to explore, creating an immersive, experiential show.

              LUKEFrom LUKE:

“In learning my trade and the vernacular of quilting I have been practicing block types and learning history of piecing. There are a vast amount of overlaps in quilting blocks, that lead me to take the designers method and try and learn the basic language before venturing forth. The log cabin is arguably the first repeatable quilting block and therefore that is where I started.

The reason it’s alluding to Judd is the material and iteration and to suggest that the show is objects in space and sculpture and remove the “Quilt” pre-conception of bed and private and valueless.”

              Show continues through February 28:
              February 19-21, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
              February 26-28, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

More info on LUKE and the show in this awesome Los Retratos article!
