The best part about having a whole warehouse full of talented artists and crafters is the access to years of trade knowledge. Lucky for us, these people are very generous and open to passing on their expertise in the form of classes. Here are a few of this month’s DIY opportunities, come on out and make something!!
Altered Metal for Jewelry Making – Feb. 6th & 11:30am
Skill Level: All, ages 15 and up.
Cost: $30. All supplies included to emboss and patina two sets of metal blanks plus beads and findings.
Instructor Peggy Forrester, owner of Nagare in stall 124 at CRAFTED, will assist students in making earrings. Additional metal blanks will be available for purchase to emboss and patina as class time permits. Peggy is a Vintaj distributor and students may order Vintaj supplies at the Nagare Boutique shop in CRAFTED.
ECF Printmaking Workshop – Feb. 6th @1pm and Feb. 7th @5pm
This is an open (all ages & skill levels) relief printmaking workshop. Visitors can join at any time. We provide all materials (paper, ink, plate and tools) along with light instruction/demonstration For $10 visitors can make 3 original prints.
Beaded Heart Pendant – Feb. 7th @1pm
Learn the quick & easy way to make this adorable heart pendant using Superduo beads, Swarovski crystals & Japanese seed beads. Class materials include all the beads and chain you need to make a sweet necklace for you or someone you love to wear on Valentine’s Day…or all year long! This class is a wonderful introduction to bead weaving and a fun project for the experienced beader as well. Skill level: All.
Make & Take Quilt Project – Feb. 13th @1pm
Join us in the Quilters Studio for February’s Make and Take Quilt Project. Participants will sew on appliqués, quilt and sew a binding on their mini quilt! Participants will leave with either a mug rug or quilted potholder. Beginners welcome!
Knitted Scarf Class – Feb. 14th at 11:30am
Skill Level: All welcome with basic knitting skills to advanced knitter, ages 15 and up.
Cost: $30 plus one skein, your choice, Nagare Boutique’s Hand-tied yarn, (135yds of assorted boutique yarns including cashmere, silk, wool, cotton, viscose, and more at $45-$55 a skein). Registering students will receive a supply list of items to bring to first session.
