We got the baby back, baby back, baby back. Yes, “Receptacle” is back for a short visit!
Artist Joyce Dallal’s 10ft wire mesh baby doll sculpture filled with non-recyclable plastic toys first came to CRAFTED back in 2012. The giant sculpture is a thought-provoking piece that brings attention to the huge plastic waste problem our world faces. “Receptacle” left in 2014 to go on exhibition, it returns for a short time before heading back to North Carolina to join the Disappearing Frogs Project in an exhibition called “The other Toy Story”.
Feed the Baby
As you can imagine, all that cross-country traveling has left the baby pretty hungry. Now’s your last chance to visit the big baby at CRAFTED and bring her some toys to fill her up. You can bring used or broken toys until February 7 and we’ll feed the baby at noon!
So come down this weekend, bring your plastic toys and take a selfie with Receptacle before she goes away forever. Don’t forget to hashtag #BigBaby #Crafted @CraftedPortLA!
