Class: Drawn to Fashion – Fashion Sketching

 

 

Do you aspire to be a fashion designer or have you always wanted to sketch your ideas for your sewing projects or future fashion line? Join Patricia Samaniego, an award winning fashion designer, and fashion mentor for the Accademia di Moda and Mood, the fabric home of Project Runway!  Learn the secrets to creating beautiful fashion illustrations.  You will learn the foundation of fashion sketching as taught in fashion colleges.  By the end of the workshop you will have a static fashion figure that you can start using as a template for your fashion sketches or a design journal!

  • Balance Line
  • Measurements & Guidelines
  • Blocking
  • Shaping
  • Movement Drawing and Gesture Lines

 

What You Will Need:

  • 9×12 Sketching pad (any brand)
  • 9×12 Tracing paper pad (any brand)
  • 1”x 12” Clear plastic ruler
  • Pencils (recommended brand Optional: Staedtler- Mars Lumograph 100 (6 pc. soft lead sketching, drawing pencils. Includes: 8B, 7B, 6B, 4B, 2B, HB) 
  • Kneaded Eraser (looks and feels like clay) 
  • Pencil Sharpener
  • Sharpie (Fine point or Extra Fine Point)

Class: Mini-Intro to Metal Clay

Learn to make a pendant from silver clay.  This material is fine silver particles combined with an organic clay binder that, when burned away, leaves the maker with pure silver (no copper alloy).  Instructor Delia Marsellos-Traister, an accomplished metal clay artisan, certified through Rio Grande and the PMC Connection, will walk you through the entire process from concept to completion.

$85 – includes instruction, hand-out, pack of clay, one small gemstone and use of all necessary tools and materials to complete the project.  You need only bring water (and eye magnification if that is useful to you).
