Shortly after, on March 16, we celebrated our own World Craft + Music Day which highlighted world crafts from around the globe, plus a special sitar performance by the incredible Fontain’s M.U.S.E., who will be back for a second performance May 4 from 2-5:30pm.  UNICEF hosted a series of lecture about fair trade in our market.

The following day we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with Shamrock craft pins, face painting With A Bite Truck whipping up traditional corned beef and cabbage dish, and authentic Irish duo performing in the market the market was buzzing with excitement. The month wrapped up with Easter festivities
which included a fun egg hunt, and a surprise appearance by our own Easter Bunny. (Did you ever guess who it was?)

 April was even busier. We had some of our highest traffic days in months, with the help of the Sock Hop and Mom & Pop Up Shop events. April 6, we had the Marymount College Jazz Ensemble kick off our summer concerts on a pretty sunny day in the parking lot. April 13 was our fantastic Sock Hop event. Car clubs, which included the great Harbor Area and more, parked in our lot to showcase their classic cars. We had lunch with El Burger Luchador and King Kone Ice Cream! People’s Place hand jived all afternoon in the market. They did the stroll. Crowds gathered for a giant dance party. People took photos in our pink caddy. It was truly a great day.

                        The month wound down with the wonderful Mom & Pop Up Shop event with SoCal Etsy Guild. This event turned out to be a massive success! We had a huge indoor and outdoor party. Over 150 vendors selling the finest handmade and vintage creations in Los Angeles. Live music all day and beer poured with San Pedro Brewing! It was a great way to kick off the summer months. In case you missed our events in the past, you certainly will not miss what we have in store for May and June. Stay tuned and stay crafty, friends!!!

Join us for a Cinco de Mayo celebration with Folklorico Del Mar of San Pedro. This talented dance troupe will be performing a half hour set from 2:00-2:30pm. Folkorico Del Mar is run by the talented Louise Gomez-Kawamoto. A dancer since age eleven, she celebrates and shares her rich Mexican culture through festive dances which originate from several regions of Mexico and the states of Guadalajara, La Puebla, Veracruz, Jalisco, Chihuahua, and Michoacan. With elaborate costumes, beautiful choreography, and dancers as young as 18 months, Folklorico Del Mar is creating quite a stir throughout Southern California!

Meet the Winemaker tasting at Crafted at the Port of LA, presented by Off The Vine

Meet winemaker Greg Allen of Cuatro Dias Winery. Cuatro Dias Winery is a 1000-1500 case production annually and is located on The Central Coast. Operating out of Riverstar Winery located in San Miguel. The grapes are sourced from Vineyards in Paso Robles, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, Los Olivos, and Santa Ynez. Wines vary each season depending on which varietals are chosen, and vineyards that are sourced that year. Six to eight varietals are produced each season, and sold in restaurants, and wine bars all over California. Taste 6 wines for $15.
