Flameworked Glass Pendants and Hearts
October 20 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Create beautiful pendants with flameworking.
Flameworking offers many possibilities for creating jewelry that offers artistic expression. We
will use gas torches and special tools to shape molten glass into several different sculptural
shapes, including hearts and discs. A wide selection of colored glass will be available to use in
making your pendant a unique artistic statement. Instruction will be provided on safety, how to
heat and shape the glass, and methods for adding decorative elements. You will also learn how
to add a glass loop for hanging on a cord or chain. After the class, your instructor will anneal
your creations in a kiln and return them for pickup the next week.
Your instructor, Steve Bay, is a glass artist that creates sculpture and jewelry using
flameworking and fusing (@stevebayglass). Steve applies his marine biology background to
capture the beauty and remarkable design of nature in his art. Class size is limited to six persons
to ensure personal attention from the instructor. Participants must be at least 16 years of age.
For safety, please wear only cotton clothing, long pants, and closed toe shoes during the class.
Long hair should be secured away from the face. All supplies and materials will be provided.
