Green Girl Farms is offering a hands-on workshop, How to Grow a Terrific Tomato, Saturday, March 22, 2015 from 12 PM to 2 PM in the edible garden near the entrance to Crafted.

The workshop is aimed at any gardeners who have tried unsuccessfully to grow tomatoes in the past.  Participants will learn how to start tomatoes from seed, prepare soil in containers and beds, apply good watering techniques and management of nutrients vital to growing great tasting tomatoes. Due to the range of growing conditions in the region, the workshop will address problems specific to southern California backyard tomato growers such as pests and diseases.  The workshop will also explain the terminology found on tomato labels, so participants can choose the best tomato varieties for their gardens.

As a bonus, each participant will take home an heirloom tomato seedlings to plant in their garden.

The cost of the workshop is $30.00, which includes all materials.  Pre-registration is required.
