Woven Yogi

In 1989, while studying art at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Kristin Faivre enrolled in a weaving class. As soon as she walked into the studio full of looms, she felt like she belonged there.  Since then, weaving has become both her passion and profession. She worked as a textile professional in NYC for ten years and, after taking a break to raise her family, she was hired by the established home textile designer, Elizabeth Eakins, to weave her custom designs at her CT studio.  She is currently working, teaching and selling her work here at CRAFTED and has merged her love of weaving with her devotion to her yoga practice – one of her special signature designs is a comfortable woven yoga mat.  She also makes woven housewares like placemats, coasters and rugs.
